GOD WANTS US TO TELL THE WORLD ABOUT HIM

SIMPLE INSIGHT: God wants us to tell the world about Him.  John 3:16 tells us that He loves all people and wants them to be saved from their sin.  What is sin?  Sin is missing the mark.  We all have sinned and missed the perfect mark to get into God’s heaven.  We’ve failed the test!  But that’s why He sent Jesus to die for our sins, rise from the dead, and make a way for us to go to heaven and be with Him.  It’s the gospel, or good news that everyone needs to hear!  Check out Matthew 28:18-20

SIMPLE PRACTICE:  This week tell someone what God has done in your life.  You might be surprised how God uses it in the life of someone else.

“Lord, I heard Your gospel and I believe it.  Help me to pass this good news on to someone else that they may come to know You.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen."

SHARING JESUS WITH PEOPLE ISN'T ALWAYS EASY

SIMPLE INSIGHT:  Sharing Jesus with people isn’t always easy.  What if I don’t speak well?  What if they reject me?  What if they don’t care?  What if they ask questions I can’t answer?  These are all real possibilities.  We face fears, and feel inadequate, and sometimes we make excuses for why we can’t do what He would like.  But Jesus is so good and gracious, that though we fail, He doesn’t.  He still wants to use you no matter what you see naturally.  He is greater than it all!  Trust Him to lead you. Check out John 15:18

SIMPLE PRACTICE: This week ask God to give you the strength to tell someone about Jesus.  Don’t worry about having all the answers.  Trust God to lead you.

“Lord, I fear sharing You because I know people can get offended and sometimes I don’t think I do a good job at it.  I want to share You though because You are the Savior of the World.  Help me to be bold and allow You to use me.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen."

SHARING JESUS WITH OTHERS IS INCREDIBLY REWARDING

SIMPLE INSIGHT: Sharing Jesus with others is incredibly rewarding.  Watching someone surrender their hearts to Jesus is one of the best feelings in the world! Knowing you have helped change a future and destiny is priceless.  But that’s only the beginning for them and you.  Jesus wants disciples, not just converts.  After a person has repented of their sin, then they need to learn what this relationship with God is all about.  It’s called discipleship.  And we all need it.  Check out Matthew 28:18-20

SIMPLE PRACTICE:  This week do 2 things: 1) Share Jesus with someone around you. 2) Find someone older in the faith than you and ask them to disciple you.  Ask questions, listen to their wisdom & experience, and know that you serve the same powerful God together!

“Lord, help me to grow in You and go for You.  I want others to know You as I’ve come to know You.  Bring me someone who can disciple me that I may be able to disciple someone else.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen.”

WORSHIP IS MEANT TO BE INSPIRATIONAL

SIMPLE INSIGHT: Worship is meant to be inspirational.  Over the centuries worship has been expressed in many forms (arts, music, writing, dance, photo, etc).  God has made you to be creative in your worship to Him.  As a result there are new songs to sing, new ways to inspire worship, and new tools to use to accomplish that.  We can worship God through our voices alone, or use multi-media and technology to bring glory to God.  The tools are simply that…tools to help us draw close to our goal: Jesus!  Check out Psalm 19

SIMPLE PRACTICE: This week listen to an old hymn, an older contemporary song of worship, and a brand new worship song.  Note your preferences and likes, but realize that the goal is still the same: Jesus!

“Lord, inspire me in my worship!  I want to worship You in freshness and joy!  I want to grow in my understanding of worship and be gracious with the many different ways of worship.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen."
